ABOUT ROCK REBAR INC.
Basalt is a dark, fine-grained volcanic rock.
Through our patented method basalt fibers are turned into RockRebar® aka, Basalt Fiber Reinforced Polymer (BFRP), when tested, RockRebar® proved to be a tougher more resilient reinforcement with a higher tensile strength as compared to traditional steel rebar. Most importantly, RockRebar® is completely non-corrosive, with a low carbon footprint, at or very near carbon neutral. RockRebar® is naturally resistant to alkali, rust and acids. RockRebar® is a “Glass-State” structural reinforcement. RockRebar® WILL NEVER RUST, BECAUSE IT CAN NOT RUST! Moisture penetration into concrete can not cause spall. Our bars do not need special coating making RockRebar® perfect for wet environments where corrosion is a continuous concern. . RockRebar® is lightweight, just 1/4th the weight of traditional steel. As a result, benefits of using RockRebar® are seen instantly by significant reductions in handling costs, mitigation of safety concurs and the speed of its installation.
The Industry
We live and work in a steel reinforced concrete world. Hurricanes, fires, earthquakes, floods and rising sea levels all contribute to the cracking failures of concrete infrastructure. It is believed that Basalt based internal reinforcements for concrete offer the best long term solution to eliminating structural failure from corrosive, rusty steel while also adding job-site and logistical values. The result of which makes our RockRebar® product state of the art and the best performance/cost alternative.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics 199.98 million tons of black steel rebar was placed in concrete construction throughout 2017. 19 to 21% of all steel production world wide is for rebar.
Back In 2017 the United States report card on infrustructure was released. The United States of America was awarded a very poor D+, the same failing grade awarded to us back in the 2013 report card. Infrustructure is not going to fix itself.
The nation’s association of Civil Engineers quoted. “The nation’s roads, dams, airports, water and electrical systems need $4.6 trillion of work”. On Tuesday January 9th, 2018 a group of United States Senators met with administration officials to discuss drafting legislation to spend $1 trillion on improving the country’s infrastructure, a goal that was made a big priority in the 2016 elections.
Now in 2022 the President signed into law, just a start of $1.3 trillion tax payer dollars for infrustructure spending. Rock Rebar Inc. has generated a product that is on the cusp of the “next industrial revolution.”
Building a Better Future
RockRebar® is an Eco Friendly Fiber Reinforced Polymer. There is now a global industry shift to favor low-carbon materials. RRI intends to create awareness and provide education around our state of the art Basalt based FRP products.
We aspire to be the leaders in this revolutionary shift the concrete reinforcement industry is making towards FRP’s. Rock Rebar Inc. is focused on making our clean non-rusting RockRebar® the standard alternative to traditional use of hi carbon footprint black steel rebar that just rusts away over and over and always will.
Our reinforcements are certified to be stronger, lighter, longer lasting and environmentally friendly.
Our focus now is to develop awareness of this incredible technology and bring RockRebar® to full commercial scale production as we profit in saving American taxpayers the enormous and skyrocketing costs associated with ongoing and future maintenance and help our planet.
In this the new era of the IoT, cloud connected sensors are now being installed inside our Reinforced Concrete infrastructure, allowing the condition of RC to be monitored in real time.
In addition, non- conductive and non-magnetic structural reinforcements with transparency to microwaves are imperative to the new aids to traffic and self driving vehicles.
Clearly, RockRebar® meets the need and will play a huge roll.
Rock Rebar Inc. continues to use our resources to help municipal and governmental agencies with mandated environmentally friendly and socially responsible products be considered on upcoming road, bridge and sea wall projects where corrosion resistant materials are now required.
